DATA CENTER ANTI-CONFERENCE USA 2026 TO HOST EXCLUSIVE PRE-RELEASE SCREENING OF RALLY POINT: OSCAR

Documentary follows 10 Afghanistan combat veterans who reunited more than a decade later in the data center, digital infrastructure industry.

Rally Point: Oscar is about brotherhood, purpose and what happens when you give people who have operated in the most demanding environments imaginable another mission worthy of their abilities.”

AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- DCAC USA 2026 will host an exclusive pre-release screening of Rally Point: Oscar, a new documentary directed and produced by Xavier Vazquez and Mike Sarraille, chronicling the remarkable journey of ten U.S. Army combat infantrymen from the battlefields of Afghanistan to the front lines of America’s rapidly expanding data center industry. The screening will take place Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. CT during the sold-out Data Center Anti-Conference (DCAC) USA 2026 at ACL Live at The Moody Theater in Austin.

More than a decade ago, the men featured in Rally Point: Oscar fought to keep one another alive in Afghanistan. Today, they have found themselves reunited in an unlikely place: the data center industry, helping build the critical infrastructure that will power AI and the next industrial revolution.

In 2012, as soldiers of the U.S. Army’s 5-20th Infantry Regiment, the men endured near-daily combat in Kandahar Province, the birthplace of the Taliban, during a deployment that left their unit with heavy casualties and wounds, both visible and unseen, that followed many of them home.

Rally Point: Oscar follows their journey across the difficult distance between war and civilian life, where a sense of purpose can disappear even as memories of combat remain. Ultimately, it is a story about what happens when the people who once helped keep you alive become the people who help you find a new mission.

“Rally Point: Oscar is about far more than veterans finding jobs after military service. It is about brotherhood, purpose and what happens when you give people who have operated in the most demanding environments imaginable another mission worthy of their abilities,” said Kirk Offel, CEO of Overwatch Mission Critical and a U.S. Navy veteran. “These men defended this country together, and today they’re building the infrastructure powering its future. DCAC is exactly where this story belongs.”

The screening reflects a larger conversation taking place across the mission-critical industry as unprecedented investment in AI and digital infrastructure creates an equally unprecedented demand for skilled workers. Veterans bring leadership, discipline, technical aptitude, adaptability and mission-first thinking to an industry where execution, reliability and teamwork are essential.

For DCAC, which has made veteran workforce development a central part of its 2026 conference, including the Anchors of Hope campaign, the film also underscores the human side of building what the organization calls the Fifth Utility, the data centers, resilient power, fiber and intelligent systems increasingly underpinning nearly every aspect of modern life.

“DCAC has always been about the people behind the infrastructure, and there may be no better example of that than the men whose story is told in Rally Point: Oscar,” said David Isaac, president of DCAC. “We are honored to give our community an exclusive first look at their story.”
